I woke up a year ago this morning super pregnant, super ready to be done being pregnant and super anxious for labor to begin. I went about my morning like normal and when Liam woke up, I knew I needed to just get out of the house.
We ran some errands and I took him to a coffee shop for a little date. We ended up at a park and I was having contractions but this little girl had been giving me those for 3 weeks at this point and it was all normal. Liam asked me to take him down the slide. I climbed (waddled) up and took my excited little boy down the slide. We made it to the bottom and there it was. That first, real, hard, this is labor and baby is coming contraction hit. She was on her way. Less than 3 hours later I was holding my healthy, screaming, squishy baby girl. After a pregnancy that made me anxious beyond measure and called me to trust that God had his hands protecting her heart through it all, I was relieved. It was over, she was here. We named her Elodie. We like the nickname Elle and chose Elodie because it's unique. It also means dainty white flower in French. She is pretty petite in size but can be feisty when she needs to be. Waking up a year ago, I couldn't imagine who Elodie would be, what kind of joy she would bring our family and how truly precious she is. We are so thankful for her. We praise God that her heart is healthy and strong, that she is growing (girl can eat...), and for the wonderful year we have had enjoying her. Happy Birthday Elodie Suzanne. We love watching you grow and change. We thank God every day for you.
